Jack是一名警察，在追踪一名连环奸杀安的过程中意外丧失了记忆。在Nostrand医生的帮助下，Jack一边接受康复治疗一边继续查案。随着Jack对罪犯手法的精准分析，案情有了重大进展，但是线索却指向了Jack自己。同时，Jack与Nostrand医生相互了解，日久生情，女友也对Jack失忆前的所作所为开始怀疑。这一切虽令Jack苦恼不已，但Jack仍顶住压力坚持寻找线索。一日，Jack在警局接到凶手的挑战电话，暂时降低了Jack的嫌疑。接着法医被人揭发与此案有关，在追捕过程中意外身亡。案情似乎告破，但是凶手的电话录音分析又表明凶手并非法医。最终在Jack的野外小木屋里，正邪最终展开较量。
