虽然成年但还不成熟的汉斯得知父亲即将卖掉房子和继母去周游世界非常生气，跟姐姐格雷特争吵后独自一人跑进森林，半路被巨大的夹子夹伤脚腕，幸好被追上来的姐姐所救，两人搀扶着来到森林中的一件小木屋，叫门后前来开门的原来是糖果店的老板，随后姐弟俩在糖果店老板丰盛晚餐的招待后先后昏厥。第2天醒来后，格雷特发现自己躺在卧室，坐在摇椅上织毛衣的糖果店老板告诉他汉斯已经被送去医院，然而格雷特在帮助屋主打扫卫生的时候无意发现箱子底下一块带血的人指甲，格雷特开始怀疑事情并不那么简单，残忍而又恐怖的事情正在屋里的某处发生……
