Plot Summary:As a child Maria already has the ability to foresee future events and impose her will on others. She is the illegitimate daughter of an Austrian count, and when she wants to marry an officer, she forces her father to recognize her as a child. After the wedding, she foresaw the assassination of Sarajevo and the outbreak of the First World War.
